Shuler's Story

The Fairy Cats are the 4 wonderful creatures who have entered my life during the past 13 years. All were adopted from local Animal Shelters, all are spayed/neutered, and all are healthy, happy and wonderful to have around. The latest, Shuler, is now 2 years old. When I went to the shelter to look for a 4th cat, I was prepared to wait. She didn't really appeal to me...the only kitten left from a litter of 6. She did appeal to a little girl who was there...but the father was giving the shelter folks a hard time about the cost (which included the spaying fee to be paid to the vet). He said..."What if I don't wanna have her fixed? She's gonna be outside anyway. She can have kittens. I don't care." I was really upset, and so were the shelter folks. Unfortunately, they can't turn someone away if they agree to the fee and sign the papers (or so I was told). However, they have one rule....first come first serve. So while he went to call his wife about paying the extra money...I hurriedly filled out the paperwork and paid the money and hurried away with little Shuler.
