THE BASEBALL GAME

The game is on it's way or so I'm told
tis a game of baseball from old times ago
tis down to two teams "The Braves and The Yanks
the best out of 7 that will be the champs

Game number 1 is on "The Yankees" own turf
the town is a hopping and getting ready to burst
the shops are displaying congradulation banners
the people will be there with their beers and their cameras

The bookies are coming out with all different odds
but to be safe it might be better to say to hell with you sods
I'll keep my money in my pocket till the very last
cos then I can make heaps and shout for the bar

The room is a buzzing and full of hot air
we have the "Yanks" in one corner and the "Braves" over there
in the middle of the room we have the commentators chair
the bunny comes in with his 'puter' and beer
he stacks up the bar with the beer and the wine
cos we all know that theirs gonna be a good time

My Poem For Les

The first time we talked their was something special there
We clicked straight away and we knew that we cared
My heart leaps for joy at the sight of your name
Your words wrap around my soul, and I'll never be the same

Your love has opend my heart and set it completely free
I thank God that he sent you along with the key
To know that such love exists and to feel it's bliss
Tis going to be heaven to feel that first kiss
I'm gonna hold you and touch you and love you for life
And I'll be ever so proud to be your wife

For Les

When the sun is hidden and it's a cloudy day
I know that you will be there to light my way
your love for me tis so hard to compare
my pains and hurts, you my love, have made disappear
your love shines like a beckon that has drawn me so close
It touches and caresess me and gives me such hope
The seeds of doubt will test our hearts
but nothing again will keep us apart
your love for me is so heavenly divine
tis hard to believe that you want to be mine

TRUE LOVE

I looked across the crowded room
and there you were standing all alone
We started to talk and my heart missed a beat
Deep down inside I knew you were to be mine

I use to sit watching out the window...
Watching the big grey clouds pass me by...
I didn't care if I lived or died...
But I care for everything now...
