Searching the hot deserts I found a precious flower I Watched it blossom after a wondrous summer shower As it opened I looked on as its petals came alive My heart leapt with joy and my spirit did thrive In my life, I had never found such a treasure before, I had to keep this flower for myself, forevermore You see, I loved this flower with all of my heart I swore to protect it in whole, not just in part For this flower had known much pain in its past, So much heartache and sorrow, inside it amassed Its bursting forth in bloom was a miracle to see Love broke its chains, setting the petals free Then this flower I had promised to protect and defend, Was hurt badly, not by an enemy, but by me in the end I had sworn to protect it from every hurt and pain Then drove a sword through its heart again and again When I looked and then realized just what I had done, The pain that filled my soul had only just begun I caused more hurt than I had ever done before And to the treasure I swore to love forevermore With all of my heart, I want the hurts to mend For its petals to heal, for it to blossom again For I do love this flower, that I truly know And I was a real fool, such a short time ago

My journey through life has followed a path Of happiness and joy, sadness and wrath. Deep down in the reaches of my soul Sadness and betrayal like a bottomless hole. Once having felt at the end of my rope, As seeing Dante's sign "Abandon all hope.." Spiritual hell can be a terrible place, Loneliness and despair, like falling from grace. I thought I'd conquered and won the war Built my defenses and locked the door. But then came lightning out of the skies Struck to my heart by those beautiful blue eyes. My beautiful lady, you're a wonder to behold Sweeter than nectar, more precious than gold. Much more valuable than any work of art The passion in your soul is like the fire in your heart. You too have known that emotional Hell and the lessons it taught, learned them well. As the Phoenix from the ashes, Love has arisen Has freed my heart from the chains of its prison. My Lady I love you in so many ways, Your sweetness brings happiness to my days. I long so to hold you in my arms To keep you safe from all of life's harms. My most precious Lady I give you a kiss Your heart is so wondrous and brings me bliss. I know if I travel to the ends of the earth No woman will ever come close to your worth.
The searching I did in pursuit of my quest wound ever unpredictably into the unknown Down pathways trodden by the very best Laughter and tears from seeds I have sown. Looking into every corner that I could find Not even knowing what it was I would seek The eternal pathways living in every mind Roads yet uncovered by the courageous, not meek. Laughter and pain lay all along the way Finally, the searching came to an end Left unfulfilled dreams, and nothing to say Like unmailed letters I'd forgotten to send out of the blue, lightning struck my soul An instant in the universe, a moment in time I found the missing part, making me whole There is no logic, no reason, no rhyme. And it doesn't matter that I don't know why By no logic or reason, this miracle can I explain Happiness, not sorrow from tears that I cry Comforting long held hurts, sorrow, and pain The light of your eyes, the beauty of your heart Were the missing pieces I unknowingly sought You my precious are the most valuable part Of my soul and my spirit, every conscious thought.
