The Partnership

I'm gazing out my window into the early dawn
Watchin' the day start anew
But even with all of the things going on
I just can't keep my thoughts off of you

Because you're a part of me now and beside you I'll stand
And love you as well as I can
Come walk with me now and take hold of my hand, and
We'll spread all our love through the land.

I look around me and all that I see is pollution of
The land and the soul. But you are the source
That sets my spirit free, and my love for you never will
Grow old - A fresh love never to grow old

And though all this mess and the dangers about, I'm
Able to live in peace. For through the warmth of
Your touch I've no room for doubt and
In you I have found my release

And if I'm a part of you then beside me you'll stand
And you'll love me as well as you can
I will walk beside you then and take you by the hand
And we'll spread all our love through the land.

Return

You have come into the focus of magical visions
appearing unto my dark heart
and it's me in the dark.
I'd like to take hold and pull you into the reality
from which we could start
and get lost in the dark
But I'm myself and your are yours, our lives not
one but twain
Our souls are caught in inner wars, but we're
bound to meet again.

Now you've left I'll wait for a while to decide if you
happen to find that I'm
really your guy, then girl to me fly
And if you come back to me my heart will soar
like the eagle as he sails
on clouds far and high - we'll float through the sky.

Because you are the revival of my deadened soul
Yet you're gentle as the golden dove
And you're eyes they have a heat that burns like
fire coal - with a passion-filled, warm kind of love

Now I'm myself and you are mine
can't you see it's true?
Our spirits blend to one divine and
One is made from two
Yes one is made from two.

Promising Lilac

Today I bought some things to get the station wagon
ready for the trip and the way I was
spending more and more
Is like the distances between us that keep on growing
And I see I never should have
Walked out your door.

Oh, you don't seem to realize you're all I see or hear
And yet you try to compromise - your say your spirit's here.

And still I am lingering, a fool in most men's eyes, and even
I am wondering if you are in disguise
For if you really need me and wanted me with you
It seems you wouldn't let the miles
Increase from one to two

Still, even though my baffled mind floods in fear and doubt
The prophecy shall be fulfilled, and time will turn about.

And the reason that my faith is us can never be destroyed
Is that I love you so intensely now, without you I am void

But you don't seem to realize
You're all I see or hear
In pain I claim the compromise
and feel your spirit near.
