Booklady

I have grey hair at my temples,
But thats alright with me.
I've grown so much inside myself,
And I'm where I'm suppose to be.

I have lived through many trials,
and had lots of good things too.
A mixture of them both,
means I have paid my dues

I've learned to dearly treasure
the things you can not see,
The hugs, the love, good wishes,
that my friends all send to me.

For with each little gesture,
they send friendship and their trust.
So I will do most anything,
to protect that, for I must.

WHO HATH A BOOK

Who hath a Book
Has Friends at hand
And Gold and Gear
At His command

And Rich Estates
if he but look
are held by Him
who hath a Book

Who hath a Book
has but to read
and he may be
a King indeed

His kingdom is
his inglenook
all this is His
Who hath a Book

The Goops they lick their fingers
and the Goops they lick their knives;
They spill their broth on the tablecloth
OH, they lead disgusting lives!

The Goops they talk while eating,
and loud and fast they chew,
and that is why I'm glad that I
am NOT a GOOP-----are you?

A LITTLE BOYS POCKET

Do you know what's in my pottet?
Such a lot of treasures in it
Listen now while I bedinit.
Such a lot of sings it holds
And everysing dats in my pottet
And when and where and how I dot it!

First of all here's in my pottet
A beauty shell I pit'd it up
and here's the handle of a tup
That someone has braked at tea
The shell's a hole in it you see.
Nobody knows dat I've dot it.
I teep it safe in my pottet.
And here's my pennies one,two,free
That Aunt Mary dave to me.
To-morrow I will buy a spade
When I'm out walking with the maid
I tan't put dat in my pottet
But I can use it when I've dot it.

Here's some more sings in my pottet
Here's my bead and here's my string
And once I hand an iron ring
But through a hole it lost one day
And this is what I always say
A hole's the worst sing in a pottet
Be sure and mend it when you've dot it.
